Some helpful information about the Legal Stuff
Getting married in Australia is a straightforward process that requires one legal form completed and evidence of name, date and place of birth, and marital status.

Happily ever… Before and after document
Once we have completed the Notice of Intended Marriage all celebrants must give the Happily ever… Before and after document.

Marriage Requirements
Notice of lntended Marriage– before you marry you must submit this form to me at least one calendar month before your wedding date, I can help complete this form.
This can be downloaded from the link below or from the links section.
The NOIM form must be completed neatly using a black pen and can be signed before any of the listed approved persons are found on the back of the form (except for myself if you are from elsewhere in Australia).
Other Required Legal Documents

Original Birth Certificate & Drivers Licence
OR Passport (Australian or Overseas)
As both Proofs of Birth and Photo identification is required. -
Original Certificate of Divorce if previously married

Original Death Certificate if you are a widow/er

These documents can be obtained from your state’s Registry of Births, Deaths, and Marriages.
Please note, according to the Marriage Act (1961) you must be over 18 years of age to marry.
ln exceptional circumstances, one person must be 18 years, and the other be over 16 years, with the court and parental permission.
